Marrawah Law

Marrawah Law, an Indigenous owned legal practice is the 2018 winner of the PwC & MURRA Boost Initiative, receiving skills and expertise valued at $30,000.

“The Marrawah Law team are incredibly honoured to be announced as the 2018 recipients of the prestigious PwC and MURRA Boost Initiative. The sponsorship will allow the team to work with PwC and PwC’s Indigenous Consulting experienced staff to develop the strategy necessary to diversify Marrawah Law’s client base, maximise current clientele and create further future growth. This initiative will be a great help to Marrawah Law achieving our goals of increased employment for Indigenous people, self-determination and confidence in Indigenous business as a whole,” said Principle Solicitor Leah Cameron.

Marrawah Law is a multi-award winning legal practice formed in 2013, Marrawah Law represents the combined strengths of three firms with over 75 years’ experience in the practice of law for government, corporate and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients. Their expertise in the areas of native title and cultural heritage law are recognised nationally. The Firm is home to five lawyers and three administrative staff across two offices in Cairns and Brisbane.

The Boost Initiative, founded by PwC Australia and the MURRA Alumni is designed to help strengthen business practices and build capacity within an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander organisation.

The PwC & MURRA Boost Initiative was launched as part of the fourth Indigenous Business Month that ran from 2 October to 31 October this year.

The initiative is supported by Asia Pacific Social Impact Centre at the University of Melbourne, 33 Creative, Iscariot Media, and PwC.
